Last Friday the helicopter community at North Island put on a flight suit formal. Each squadron comes up with a theme and incorporates flight suits into the costumes. Some themes were "Vikings", "Jersey Shore", "Snuggies", "Thriller",and HSC-8, having just come back from the area of the Olympics did an "Olympic/team USA" theme. The "Vikings" were pretty good with everyone coordinated and uniform, and the "Thriller" group made their entrance doing the thriller dance.
With the final theme decision being made only days before, and Jade's return the evening prior to the event, we didn't have a lot of time to create costumes. But I think we did pretty well as Apollo Ohno and Julia Mancuso.
Although it felt a little like a high school dance, DJ included, we had a great time hanging out with friends and all being together again after a 6 week detachment to WA.
