Hong Kong

The ship has made it to Hong Kong! They have been there for a couple days now and head back into the big blue in about 12 hours or so. I still get confused about what I can and can't talk about (for security purposes), but I was reassured by Jade that I can talk about where they are once they get there because security is already in place, but we are not allowed to talk about where they are going. So many rules and things to remember. They have been having a good time exploring the many aspects of Hong Kong... the night life included. They also went to the symphony last night... not your typical pilot outing ;-) and many of them got custom suits made. Jade says his looks pretty sharp... he will have to take me out on the town when he gets home!

As for the home front, things are still busy but good with school. The pups are keeping me busy as well. Luther, the puppy, is growing like a weed! They all have their distinct personalities which keeps me entertained.

Fooled

I had convinced myself before Jade left that I was going to be so busy, the time would fly by... and that 6 months really isn't that long anyway! HA, yeah right! This is our second deployment together, but somehow it seems to be like childbirth in that by the time the second one comes around you forget how much it sucked the first time. I have been really busy, and the days are going quickly, but I don't know who I was kidding with the '6 months really isn't that long anyway.' A lot happens to a person in 6 months. I keep thinking about where I will be by the time Jade gets back, I will be finished with this semester and will have already started my nursing program. I will be back living in San Diego, probably needing to hire someone else to come walk my dog (for those of you that aren't aware, I've been walking dogs for a while now). Baby Jada will be rolling over and holding her head up and Luther, the puppy, probably won't even look like a puppy anymore.

This past week the communication was down with the ship, I had no way of being in contact with him. Timing couldn't have been worse. It was the day I got all the bad news about my friends. As soon as I got home I emailed him, he got it, but when he tried to respond he couldn't... email was down. For a little over a week I was left to wonder if he'd gotten my email, if he knew how much I needed him now, and most of all, when I would hear from him again. I finally did hear from him, today. They are doing well, they are somewhere in WestPac. I've been told it's hot, but those are all the details I know. Jade is back up and flying again and keeping busy, which is great!
