Lincoln Russell

Introducing Lincoln Russell Blauert...
On Wednesday January 5, 2011 I had the honor of being at the birth of Lincoln Russell Blauert. My good friend Lori was 38 weeks pregnant to the day. We were hoping Lincoln would hold off for one more week so his daddy could get home from Iraq, but of course baby had his own plans.
So although we all missed Russ, I was happy that I was able to be with Lori through her labor and our other friend Ashley was able to join us for the birth. We were able to keep Russ updated through text and IM (this is what I love about technology), so he could feel a part of the experience although he was a world away.
At 3:05 pm Lincoln made his appearance, weighing in at 7 lbs 4.4 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. Lori did an amazing job and only pushed for about 45 minutes. The next day (less than 24 hours after birth) Mommy and Lincoln got to go home! Grandma and Grandpa flew in from the East Coast as soon as they heard baby Lincoln was on his way and were there to bring Lincoln home. Lincoln even got to meet his siblings right away. Tanner and Cali were both very curious, but also gentile with Lincoln. I think they will like having another playmate!

Lincoln and Lori are both doing well and waiting for their visit from daddy! Lincoln is just perfect and I am so in love with him. Thank you Lori for allowing me to be a part of such an amazing thing.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It brings joy, love and time with the people we care about most. We had a wonderful Christmas hanging out with family and friends, enjoying our new house and our first holiday season as a married couple.

Chloe waiting for Christmas morning!
Christmas morning with the in-laws! We had a wonderful time spending the week with Harry and Heather... thanks for helping us set up the garage and add to the garden :)
Merry Christmas everyone!
After a morning of opening presents, it's time for Chloe's nap on my Christmas present!
We're ready to bring on the new year!

December Ski Vacation

In mid December Jade and I went on an awesome ski trip to Colorado with our good friends Matt and Sarah. We had an amazing time with some wonderful snow!

Getting ready to ski Breck...

Taking a time out for snow angels in Steamboat!

Joys of Home Ownership

The joys of home ownership...

Spent my day today weeding the front yard...
But I wouldn't have it any other way. There are so many more good things (plus I like being outside even if it does mean pulling weeds!)... like my Columbines! A little taste of Colorado...
And the excitement of seeing our first Calla Lily bloom!

Christmas Village

Ever since I was little I wanted my very own miniature Christmas village. With a little help from my mom and as a gift from my parents, this is what I have so far...
The little houses even light up!
Looking forward to adding to my village through the years.

A Christmas Surprise

The night after Thanksgiving Sarah and I were surprised by our wonderful husbands and taken to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas concert.
Mom and dad came too. Way to keep the surprise guys!

Not your typical Christmas concert, but it was a lot of fun. Christmas music/story meets Rock and Roll meets laser lights and fire... what's not to like.

Jade isn't known for surprises, so it was great when he told me it was time to take a shower and get ready to go out... I had no idea where we were going. Thanks babe!

Thanksgiving Day

We had our first Thanksgiving in our new house, and our first time hosting Thanksgiving. Luckily, we had some help...

Dad and Jade putting the turkey in the paper bag, getting ready for the oven. Mom peeling potatoes!
Sarah was a bit skeptical of the paper bag theory, but was convinced soon after...

Michael having fun playing with his tools and hanging with Uncle Jade and Chloe!
The Michael's cruising and watching football!

Jade snuggling up with his girls ;-)
It was fantastic spending Thanksgiving with such wonderful family and friends. Thank you all for coming to celebrate with us and we are so lucky (and thankful) to have you in our lives... we are also thankful for all our wonderful friends and family that could not be with us on this night, you were in our thoughts.
